Euthanasia

The first thing that comes to my mind when I hear the word Euthanasia is Dr. Death (Jack Kevorkian), a very popular northamerican doctor that was indicted for practice indirectly euthanasia to his patients. He used a machine called “Thanatron” that allows the patients self-administered lethal chemicals to end with they lifes. His motto of life was “died is not a crime”. That’s also the most famous case of euthanasia that I know.

But, what do I think about euthanasia? I think as Dr. Death in a certain way, died is not a crime, and if there is a person with a terminal disease without no possibility of recovery and its causes the patient a great pain I think that euthanasia is a legitimate solution, but only with those conditions. And as I don’t have religion, it does not matters me, (the euthanasia I mean).

However, the Chilean government doesn’t think like me or Dr. Death. This assisted suicide is not allowed legally in Chile. They doesn’t see euthanasia with all its benefits, they doesn’t respect personal freedom to decide what to do with hi/her life.

Travelling!!!

I can think in only one thing, travel, travel and travel. That’s the only thing that I want to do now. I would like to travel around Chile, firstly to north of Chile and then to south. But I also I always wanted to visit Europe, specifically Rome or Greece, but I never have been to. I would like to go there to see the classical architecture and the old buildings, like Partenon or the Coliseum. And I like to make a videotape about myself travelling around those old cities. But if I realist, I would not like to live or work in those cities many time, I admit that could be great at the beginning, but then the city could lost the magic to me I think, if I go to Rome for example and if I live in there, the coliseum won’t be the same if I look it all the time, do you know what I mean. And I like to live in Chile, and travel around it; it’s a beautiful country with many landscapes. So, I really want to travel around the world but I like Chile very much.

The Cinema

You can’t imagine what I going to talk about today!, yeah, it’s about CINEMA!! Firstly I am going to talk you about my impression about the cinema or movies. Then, I will continue telling you about my favourite movie, and why it’s what likes the most. After that, I will tell you a little of my likes and dislikes kind of movies, because not all movies are worthy to see.

Well, I don’t will lie to you, I’m not a big lover of movies, in fact, I don’t see a lot of movies. I don’t rent them and I don’t download or buy them. I’m really boring in that aspect.

About my favourite Chilean film, I don’t have one, but about movies in general I need to tell you that I had 3 favourites movies. “the lord of the ring”, because I like the fantasy world that shows the movie. “la vida es bella”, because it’s a really beautiful movie that tells us about the sacrifice of a father and the other movie that likes me is ”the road”, another movie that tells us about the great effort of a father at the end of the world to care his son.

I need to tell you that I dislike the romantic movies, because they are predictable and boring. But I really like the action, existential and fantasy movies very much.

 But if I honest with you, if someone made a movie about me it could be a sad one at the beginning, but then change the history completely, so I think that it could be a interesting movie.

New and Strange Term

Well, here I am again, I don't really like the idea to be in class, I felt very diappoint about the end of this great social movement. If I am honest, I did want to end like this, getting nothing. This could be a good reason to explain the fact that I don’t have good expectations about this Term, I only want to end as fast as possible. Only the idea that have a Two months Term make me think in vacations, because this is not an aproppiate way to past all the class assignments of the subjects, well, that’s my impression.
And also I hate some of my currents subjects, like psychiatry, Introduction to the Psychologycal Evaluation and cognitive Neurocience. Because I can’t question the bases of this knowledge, I have to learn and memorize it without interpret or even think  what I’m learning. I just have to know it.
Another thing that bugs me is that we will have class in summer. The idea of having class with 40 degrees of temperature and 45 people is just…awful.

That’s all that could I say in formal and academics terms about this short Term. 

Bye Bye Blogs... :D!!!

Well, about the Blog sessions I can say that was a good experience to improve my English, in general, doing the blogs was not a difficult work, but in sometimes it was very boring, maybe the topic  of certain blogs were boring so, realize them was boring because I did it for obligation rather than learning. But, I have to recognize, the topics were very funny and I enjoyed write the blogs. So, in that specifics topic I like it very much, specially when I had to find a image that represent the topic of the blog and I find a very funny images (jejeje).

But, what about the effectiveness of made blogs in the English class. Well, in that case I could say that it have an advantages, like search in the internet a word that you need to use in the class (or blog) but you don’t know how to say it in English, or if you have a doubt about the spelling of a word, you could write the word in a translator and know the spelling of that word. But it has also disadvantages, like the distraction of the internet, like been in facebook, MSN or twitter. But I think that it could be an advantage and a disadvantage as well. Why? Because you can chat with other people that speak English, so you could ask them about it. For example, I chat (not necessary in classes) with a friend that speak English, but he also speak Spanish, so he could explain me something that I don’t know in Spanish if required. I thought that it could help me to improve my English, but I didn’t really believe it. But when I try to write in English it become easier. So, I think, like chatting, making blogs is a good way to improve the skills to speak, write and understand English.

Books, a great topic to go to sleep

Well, the last book I read was “Sobre la condición social de la Psicología” of the Chilean epistemologist Carlos Perez. And I choose it because it was the last book I read, not for personal preference but for “obligation”. I must read it or I’d failed in the test.

 It’s an interesting book that talks us about the development of psychology since it was established as an Institution. The author talks us about how this discipline has been change trough the years, how the study object has been modified and how the different currents in psychology can be understood as human constructions and, according to that, say that the kind of knowledge that produced psychology depends of the currents and, the social conditions in a specific time.

This is a very important thing if you are studying psychology and if you don’t, this is important if you want to know a little bit of psychology. Say that psychology is a human construction has a several implications:

• All kind of knowledge in psychology depends of the perspective that you are seeing it.
• Psychology doesn’t have the “truth” there are only theories (more or less supported).
• As a construction has a beginning and therefore could have an end.

Psychology talks about the subjectivity of its specific time (in a sociohistorical context).

If someone, everyone, read this, that person could think that psychology is not necessary or is an invention and, in that way says that psychology doesn’t have purpose to be. There can’t be more wrong thought. The same thing we’d say about history or philosophy. In opposition to this statement, I‘d say that there is no more needed thing that psychology, it allows us to live in balance with are feelings, thoughts and emotions.

Fuck You Tree

This is a wonderful picture that reflects all the beauty of nature, the capacity of nature to see the existence with another eyes. This is the Fuck U tree as I called it. And if you ask me about who took it I really dont know, I just take it from Google images. Also, I really don’t know when was took it, I think it was take in winter, because the tree does not have leafs .

And what it shows is like the tree has an arm and it’s lifting the middle finger, it’s seems like the tree is living. It’s so funny, The firts time I saw it (about fifteen minutes ago) I was laughing like a crazy. But in silence, because sounds rare that people hear you laugh long time. This picture shows us what do we have to do when life turn you back. It’s so simple, is the nature expressing its desagreement against the action of men. Suffice it to say that this is a very strange picture, in fact, only a few persons will see it. So , you are with luck if you see something like this.

To me, the tree is anger with the human action, because we are destroying its environment. If you ask me, I will anger to if someone came to my house and start to drestoy everything. Clearly, this is an rare interpretation, and obviuosly, I really don’t think like a nature lover. If I saw this tree I’ll back the same gesture that it does to my...jejeje.
